Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee is no longer active since the Governor's Council has sunsetted.  It promoted GIS as a strategic information technology and assisted the council in disseminating its messages to appropriate audiences.

Work plan FY09

Goal:  Works to connect the council with its constituencies and to publicize its work to the broader community.

  • Create a liaison relationship between the Outreach committee and the Emergency Preparedness committee and its Outreach workgroup.
  • Incorporate Homeland Security and Emergency Management organizations in Communication Plan.

  • Explore ways of distributing more council messages through GIS/LIS e-announcements and electronic postings of other organizations
